New 650,000 GSF, twelve-story research lab and clinical building located on the former Mass Mental site, consisting of twelve above-grade floors, two below-grade floors, a 400 car garage, and a below-grade central heating plant (featuring hot water boilers and a 4.0 MW reciprocating engine cogeneration facility). The facility contains a 7T imaging and cyclotron suite, bridge and tunnel connections to the Shapiro Cardiovascular Center (also by BR+A), neurosciences ambulatory care, conference center, and a 30,000 SF vivarium. Targeting LEED Gold with 37% energy-cost savings. Cogen has resilient black-start capability and supports 100% island-mode operation for adjacent Shapiro building.
