PHARMACEUTICAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE

 

NOVARTIS
Cambridge, Massachusetts

Project X. 500,000 SF fit-out of a former candy factory to house laboratory space for Novartis’ Human Genetics / Core Technology, Chemistry, Biology, and Oncology programs. Project houses a 40,000 SF, multiple-level, barrier-type vivarium with ventilated rack and basement cagewash facilities; NMR / Mass Spectrometer suites with UPS and emergency power; a Hydrogenation room; Optics Lab and limited robotics processing. Building also includes a 6-story atrium space with 4 glass elevators and a large smoke evacuation system, as well as cyber interactive public spaces and circulation zones. HVAC System was designed as a glycol heat recovery system with high dilution fans, custom built air handling units and variable volume fume hoods throughout. Project also includes a separate Amenities Building - renovation of the original factory’s existing boiler plant – to house a kitchen / café, meeting rooms and large auditorium.


NOVARTIS
Cambridge, Massachusetts

100 Technology Square. 280,000 SF fit-out of a new 8-story shell building (also designed by BR+A) to house extensive chemistry and biology laboratories for this pharmaceutical client. Project includes a 30,000 SF vivarium, NMR / Mass Spectrometer suites and administrative / conference space. Entire project, including upgrade of existing infrastructure to support a heavy laboratory environment, was designed and constructed on a fast track schedule of 12 months.


LEXIGEN PHARMACUETICALS CORPORATION
Lexington, Massachusetts

New Research and Development Facility. Multi-phased pharmaceutical R&D project, anticipated to total approximately 318,000 SF. Phase I consists of a 17,000 SF pilot plant and a two-story, 56,000 SF Research and Development Headquarters building. Subsequent phases will include three additional R&D buildings and an 80,000 SF processing facility. In addition, 600 parking spaces will be accommodated on site in a phased structured parking facility.


CENTER FOR MEDICAL SCIENCE
Albany, New York

Research and Development Building. 180,000 SF multi-tenant research and development building to house multiple academic, government and bioscience tenants, each of which require offices, research and development laboratories, ancillary equipment facilities and, possible, cGMP or non-cGMP production space.
